Frequently Asked Questions

How can I check my grades online?
You must have a Login ID and Password for the Family and Student Access system in order to check your grade online.

A student Login ID is composed of the first five letters of your last name, the first three letters of your first name and three zeros.
  • For example, if your name is "John Smith", your Login ID would  be "smithjoh000."
  • Your Password for checking your grade online is the same as your lunch pin (typically five digits).
  • Parents can obtain an ID to monitor their student’s progress.  Click HERE to find more information about obtaining access to Skyward or to log in.
How can I get assignments online?

All notes, handouts, assignments, etc., are available online for you to view and/or print.  To access the assignments, log into Skyward Family Access.  Go to Mrs. Beckett's class in the gradebook and simply click on the assignment you are interested in
viewing.  A PDF of the assignment will open for you to view and/or print.

How can I tell what we're doing in class?
Notes, assignments, handouts, lab activities, etc., are posted on Skyward each day.  This provides an outline of what we are working on each day.  When a test is approaching, I will post an message on the Skyward message center to alert students and
parents.

Why does it look like I'm missing assignments on Skyward, but I know I turned them in?
The assignment may not have been graded yet. In order to post assignments online each day (see previous Frequently Asked Question), the assignment must be entered into the Skyward gradebook so that the work can be attached to it. Unfortunately, sometimes I am not able to grade the assignment and enter it into Skyward on the day it is due.  This results in the assignment being marked with an asterisk (*) and a check mark that says "missing."  Please note that if an assignment is truly missing, it will have a score of ZERO in the grade book and will have the check mark that indicates it is missing.  If there is an asterisk and a "missing" check mark, the assignment has not yet been graded.

How can I improve my grade?

Late Work
Late assignments will be accepted, but will be scored at a reduced number of points.
One day late, the assignment will be worth a maximum of 75% of the original value.

Two or more days late, the assignment will be worth a maximum of 50% of the original value.

Late assignments will NOT be accepted after the test on the material has been given.

Obviously it is best if students complete assignments on time in order to avoid a loss of points, however 50% for an assignment is far better than 0%.

Re-do assignments
If an assignment is returned to you with points deducted, you may re-do the parts of the assignment that were incorrect or incomplete and resubmit them to recover points.  It is possible that you will not receive full credit for the assignment, but even a couple of extra points can help improve your grade.
